How to learn trading from scratch: a 30-day plan

Beginner · 6 min read · figures as of Nov 5, 2026
Short answer

Four weeks, one topic each: the market and the broker; the chart, candles and averages; earnings and relative strength; risk and a first trade with a small amount. Half an hour a day is enough. The key is not to trade a large amount until you have finished all four weeks and started a journal.

Week 1: the market.

What a stock, an exchange, a ticker, a broker and orders are. When the market opens in Tashkent. Open an account, but do not trade yet.

Week 2: the chart.

Candles, volume, the 50- and 200-day moving averages. Each day open five stocks and answer: is the trend up or down, and why?

Week 3: earnings and strength.

Earnings and revenue growth, the price reaction to a report, the relative strength line. Find three stocks rising faster than the market and explain why.

Week 4: risk and a first trade.

Stop-loss, position size, the journal. Make your first trade with an amount you can afford to lose and a stop set in advance.
